Robot Redesign
This student project is a ping pong inspired redesign of an electronic robot toy.
The goal was to accurately reverse engineer and then using Solidworks, 3D model the original internal components and place them in a kluge. The toy robots' electronic components were then enclosed in a newly designed case. This redesign included all of the required specifications and allowances for injection molding.
This is a common practice of repurposing internal components in a new product or updating aesthetics to please a new or evolving consumer.
For the redesign I gave the robot a job.
This bot would be in charge of scooping up ping pong balls.
